BIOGRAPHIE:
Sébastien Larochelle, artiste peintre originaire de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue, vit et travaille à L’Assomption depuis une dizaine d’années. Diplômé d’un baccalauréat en création en arts, il développe une pratique picturale contemporaine centrée sur l’expressivité du geste, la puissance du mouvement et la fougue du vivant. Travaillant principalement l’acrylique, souvent combinée à d’autres médiums, Larochelle est particulièrement reconnu pour ses œuvres équestres, dont l’énergie et la sensibilité ont marqué son identité artistique. Son univers visuel inclut également des représentations de taureaux, de coqs et de koï, sujets où il explore la tension, la vitalité et la présence animale.
Son parcours compte plusieurs expositions majeures, dont Equus Liberta (Galerie Beauchamp, 2011), Stamped (Galerie Blanche, 2014) et sa participation à l’exposition collective itinérante (2013–2015) présentée sous le chapiteau du spectacle Odysseo de Cavalia. Sébastien Larochelle — Biography
Sébastien Larochelle, a painter originally from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, has lived and worked in L’Assomption for about ten years. A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, he has developed a contemporary painting practice focused on the expressiveness of gesture, the power of movement, and the vitality of life. Working primarily with acrylics, often combined with other media, Larochelle is particularly known for his equestrian works, whose energy and sensitivity have defined his artistic identity. His visual world also includes depictions of bulls, roosters, and koi, subjects in which he explores tension, vitality, and the animal’s presence.
His career includes several major exhibitions, including Equus Liberta (Galerie Beauchamp, 2011), Stamped (Galerie Blanche, 2014), and his participation in the traveling group exhibition (2013–2015) presented under the big top of the Cavalia show Odysseo. Larochelle's works are part of numerous public and private collections, including those of Intact Financial Corporation, Fiji Communications, Uni Select Inc., Rocky Mountain Chocolates, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, as well as several veterinary clinics and Quebec businesses.
