Leisa Rich is an artist who experiments with textile fibers and mixed media. She transforms new and salvaged materials using a variety of historical and contemporary techniques, including sewing, weaving, dyeing, engraving, heat transfer, fusion, 3D printing, laser engraving and free motion sewing 'painting' and building textures by using thread on a sewing machine.<\/p>\n","demarche_artistique":"
I discovered art at the age of 15 following an illness and since then I have spent decades creating fiber works, interactive experiences with the viewer and pseudo-utopian spaces, wishing to create the illusion of a hyper-real world. I want to convey the beauty of nature, the symbiosis between humans and nature, the impact of negative environmental challenges and our interdependence.<\/p>\n
I am surrounded by deer, foxes, coyotes, mink, birds, frogs and raccoons as they timidly cross, graze, sing and flit across my land, along with butterflies, flowers and softly blowing grass.
