  About
Jean-Louis Emond (born 1957) is a Montreal-based sculptor and painter. He received his Bachelor in Visual Arts from the University of Québec in Montréal (1987). From 1993 to 2000, he was professor at the Saidye Bronfman Centre, School of Fine Arts (Montréal) and then head of the sculpture department until 2007 while maintaining an active artistic practice.
Since 1984, his work was shown in more than one hundred exhibitions in museum, established galleries and visual arts centres in Canada, in USA and in France. Main solo exhib- itions include Un parcours imprévu (Montréal, 2018) ; Gros grain (Montréal, 2013) ; Bullfighting : lnner struggle (Calgary, 2012) ; 2D / 3D, duo (Paris, 2012) ; La chute des corps (Montréal, 2010) ; Ombre, lumière, transparence et mouve- ment (France, 2010) ; Sculpting the Interior (Calgary, 2009) ; Le Faune - Le corps du délit (Montréal, 2007-2008).
He participated in numerous group exhibitions such as : ARTRIA, an open air museum (Granby & Waterloo, 2016- 2017), Recycl’Art (Gatineau 2014), Collection Loto-Québec, œuvres choisies at Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (2009), Vente de garage... 12 œuvres d’art at the Musée de la civilisa- tion à Québec (2007). He participated to several events and art fairs such as Art O’Clock, La foire d’art contemporain 2e édition, Paris La Défense, (2013), le 84e Salon International d’Art de Bourges, 2009 (honour guest), SOFA New York and Chicago (2008,2009).
