artistic approach:
I discovered art at the age of 15 following an illness and since then I have spent decades creating fiber works, interactive experiences with the viewer and pseudo-utopian spaces, wishing to create the illusion of a hyper-real world. I want to convey the beauty of nature, the symbiosis between humans and nature, the impact of negative environmental challenges and our interdependence.
I am surrounded by deer, foxes, coyotes, mink, birds, frogs and raccoons as they timidly cross, graze, sing and flit across my land, along with butterflies, flowers and softly blowing grass. These experiences lead me to create works in fiber and mixed media that tell their story - which is also ours - that life is precious and how lovely it is to be alive.
